What We Do...

What type of face paint do you use - is it safe?
Did you know that Face Paint is not really paint? It’s a cosmetic water based makeup. We use only professional, FDA compliant cosmetic makeup approved for the face and skin. The brands we use are Wolfe, Diamond FX, and Paradise, Kryolan, and Snazaroo. We DO NOT USE acrylic, poster, or other craft paints or markers. Although labeled non-toxic (which only applies if you eat the paint), acrylic & craft paints are not approved for use on the skin.

If your child has sensitive skin, please let us know and we can perform a “patch” test, or paint a design on their hand or arm where the skin is usually less sensitive.

We have Material Data Safety Sheets (MDS) available if there is a question regarding the ingredients of any of the makeup we use.

*No matter what face painter you hire, for the safety of your child and your guests, always make sure that they use products that are made for use on skin.

What type of glitter do you use - is it safe?
We  use non-metallic, .008-size hex-cut cosmetic grade polyester glitter in our face painting and glitter tattoo designs. It is a professional quality glitter that is specifically made for application on the skin. This is NOT the same type of glitter that can be purchased at craft stores.
*Regular craft store glitter should never be used on the face or near the eyes as it can cause serious injury if it gets into the eyes!

…and the adhesives?

Glitter tattoos are applied with a skin safe (non-latex) adhesive glue that is made for use on the body.

What about spreading germs?
We will not paint the face of anyone who appears to be sick, has a runny nose or swollen eyes, has a skin rash, has an open cut or sore on his or her face, or has an obvious illness. We are happy to paint a hand, arm, or leg instead. Our brushes and sponges are cleaned in antibacterial soap and hot water after every event. We always have antibacterial wipes, gel and alcohol on hand.

And finally…

Is there anyone you won't paint?
We will not paint anyone who is not willing to be painted-you need to be conscious and answer YES when you are asked if you would like to be painted.  So this includes sleeping children, adults under the influence and  babies not old enough to understand they are being painted and it’s a good thing. We want this to be a positive experience for everyone.

Is there anything you won’t paint?
Although we are happy to be creatively challenged and have a lot of fun being able to satisfy most requests, we can and will refuse to paint subject matter that is inappropriate for the fun party atmosphere we are trying to create. Any symbol that insults, intimidates or in our judgment is just bad taste will not be painted. Again, we want this to be a positive experience for everybody.

How to Care for
My New Art Work

Face and Body Paint
Drink through a straw, don’t rub it with your hands, and take a picture there is no saving your face for tomorrow!

Glitter Tattoo

Glitter tattoos usually last anywhere from 4-7 days if taken care of properly. Glitter tattoos are waterproof!!! Yes, you can bathe regularly, and swim in the pool or in the ocean. Do not rub excessively or apply alcohol-based products such as perfume. They last longer on dry skin compared to sweaty or oily skin.

Once you have unwrapped and removed the dry henna paste you will see an orange-yellow stain left on your skin. The stain will deepen into a richer reddish-brown tone over the next 48 hours.
